American was recognized in the "Large Companies" category for its employee friendly policies and programs including the LifeBalance personal wellness program, which provides employees with free annual health assessments, stress management, fitness and nutrition classes, financial seminars and more. Additionally, American gives each employee their birthday off and provides weekly paydays, tuition assistance, a casual dress code and onsite training classes.
"The passion and commitment of our employees are what make American Savings Bank one of Hawaii's best places to work. Each year, we strive to be the best place to work and believe we have the best team in the business to get us there," said Beth Whitehead, Chief Administrative Officer. "We trust that providing employees with the best experience possible translates into best-in-class service for our customers and communities."
The Best Places to Work in Hawaii list is compiled annually by an independent workplace-excellence research firm, which evaluates each company based on employee surveys and an assessment of company policies and practices. The program is free and open to all publicly and privately held companies of 15 or more employees working in Hawaii.
Serving Hawaii's businesses and communities for nearly 85 years, American Savings Bank provides a full range of financial products and services, including commercial and consumer banking, insurance, and investments.
